Kentucky's Reed wins 2014 John Olerud Award

Junior pitcher and first baseman A.J. Reed won the 2014 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award with a 12-2 record and 2.09 ERA on the mound and a .336 batting average, 23 home runs and 73 RBIs at the plate. Reed receives award »

About the Award

The John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player.

Olerud, who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, was a standout pitcher and first baseman at Washington State University from 1987 through 1989.
