2015 First Pitch Luncheon to feature Rangers' Banister
LUBBOCK -- Texas Rangers fans anxious to hear new manager Jeff Banister's plans for the team will have their chance at the annual First Pitch Luncheon on Jan. 29 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Doors open at 11 a.m.
"This is a great chance for fans to get a chance to hear first-hand what the 2015 season might look like for the Rangers," said Mike Gustafson, president and CEO of the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. Table prices range from $200 for reserved seating for eight to $500 for preferred table location and eight tickets to a pre-luncheon meet and greet with Banister and Rangers field reporter and Insider Host Emily Jones. Individual tickets are $25. Proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Double T 104.3, Lubbock Sports, Reagor-Dykes Auto Group and Fuddruckers, will benefit the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
In addition to Banister, speakers for this year's event will include area high school coaches, Lubbock Christian coach Nathan Blackwood and Texas Tech and 2014 Skip Bertman National Coach of the Year winner Tim Tadlock, who will review his team's run to the 2014 College World Series and preview the 2015 season.
"Baseball has never been more popular in Lubbock, and we hope the community will come see and listen to the many great coaches we have in town at both the high school and college level," Gustafson said. "This is a fantastic way to get everyone excited about the upcoming season, and we really hope to see a big crowd come hear about our local teams."
