National All-Star Lineup - May 8, 2012
Logan Birr, Michael Sheridan and Kyle Szatrowski throw no-hitters

LUBBOCK, Texas – The College Baseball Hall of Fame and Diamond Sports are proud to announce this week's National All-Star Lineup.

This week, we recognize Logan Birr (St. Cloud State), Michael Sheridan (Caldwell College) and Kyle Szatrowski (University of Massachusetts-Boston) for their no-hit performances. Blake Hauser (VCU) also had an impressive week from the mound, as he struck out 11 and allowed one hit in 4 1/3 innings of work. Gaither Bumgardner (USC Upstate) had back-to-back 5-for-5 efforts and hit .667 for the week. Goose Kallunki (Utah Valley) leads the nation in RBIs, as he hit .526 and added 12 RBIs. Jared King (Kansas State) hit .625 with three doubles and a triple. Richie Rodriguez (Eastern Kentucky) hit for the cycle and tallied a .667 average. Drew Adams – Gordon College, Sophomore

Batted .563 (9-for-16) with 11 RBIs. Adams tripled in three of the four games, added a double and slugged 1.000 on the week.

Andrew Barbosa – South Florida, Senior

Pitched a shutout against conference leader St. John’s. Barbosa allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters to earn his sixth win of the season.

Logan Birr – St. Cloud State, Senior

Threw his first collegiate no-hitter in a complete-game win over the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Birr struck out 14 to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Gaither Bumgardner – USC Upstate, Junior

Opened the week with back-to-back 5-for-5 efforts at Wofford and Georgia State. For the week, Bumgardner hit .667 (16-for-24) with three doubles, nine runs and eight RBIs. The junior, who posted a .792 slugging percentage, was perfect in the field.

Mitch Crocker – Westmont, Senior

Earned three wins for the Warriors against conference opponent Vanguard. Crocker allowed just two runs on 10 hits and struck out nine over 12 2/3 innings pitched.

Stephen Gary – Furman, Senior

Earned three wins in four relief appearances. In 7 2/3 innings of work, Gary allowed just three singles, no earned runs and two walks while striking out nine.

Blake Hauser – VCU, Junior

Went 1-0 on the week with two saves. Hauser allowed just one hit over 4 1/3 shutout innings and struck out 11 to pick up his 10th save of the season.

Andrew Heaney – Oklahoma State, Junior

Tossed his third shutout and fourth complete game of the season against Oklahoma on Friday night. The junior allowed three hits, struck out seven and issued one walk.

Goose Kallunki – Utah Valley, Senior

Batted .526 (10-for-19) with three home runs, three doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs. Kallunki had his second multi-homer game in a win at Houston Baptist. The senior leads the nation in RBIs (72) and ranks in the top 10 in batting average (.419), home runs (15), slugging (.747), hits (78) and total bases (139).

Jared King – Kansas State, Sophomore

King led the Wildcats to a 3-1 week by hitting .625 (10-for-16) with five extra-base hits, 12 RBIs, a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .650 on-base percentage. King also scored seven runs and drew three walks. He tallied three doubles, one triple and his fifth homer of the season last week.

Richie Rodriguez – Eastern Kentucky, Senior

Hit for the cycle on Saturday, going 4-for-6 with four runs scored and three RBIs. In three games last week, Rodriguez hit .667 (8-for-12) with nine runs scored, two doubles, a triple, home run, four RBIs and two stolen bases. The senior had a 1.250 slugging percentage and .688 on-base percentage.

Tim Saunders – Marietta College, Senior

Hit 17-for-25 (.680) with two doubles, two triples and two home runs. Saunders finished the week with 11 runs scored, six RBIs and was a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts.

Alex Schrupp – Metro State, Junior

Hit .867 (13-for-15) with seven runs scored and two RBIs. On Saturday, Schrupp went 4-for-4 in the first game of a doubleheader, with two runs and two RBIs. The junior followed that performance with a 2-for-2 effort with two runs scored.

Michael Sheridan – Caldwell College, Freshman

Pitched a nine-inning no-hitter in Caldwell's 7-2 victory over Felician. Sheridan faced 31 batters, walking two and striking out six while hitting one batter. He recorded 10 fly-ball outs and 11 groundouts.

Taylor Stuart – Hofstra, Junior

Batted .727 (8-for-11) with four doubles, a home run, three RBIs and eight runs scored. Stuart had multiple hits in all three games, including a 4-for-5 effort with two doubles and a home run in the series-clinching win over Northeastern.

Kyle Szatrowski – University of Massachusetts-Boston, Freshman

Pitched the first no-hitter in school history in a win over Wentworth. The freshman struck out seven and retired the final six batters in the contest in the complete-game victory.

Brad Vachon – Cisco College, Sophomore

Threw a seven-inning shutout, giving up just three hits and no runs in a win over Vernon College. Vachon has now gone 21 consecutive innings without giving up a run.

Grahamm Wiest – Cal State Fullerton, Freshman

Threw just 85 pitches to accomplish a three-hit shutout over Pacific on Sunday. Wiest notched four strikeouts in the victory.

Joe Williams – Sterling College, Junior

Batted .600 (12-for-20) with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs and six runs scored. Williams highlighted the week with a 4-for-6 effort in the first game of a doubleheader against Tabor where he scored the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the 10th.

Jacob Wilson – Memphis, Senior

Hit .500 in the three-game sweep of UAB, slugged 1.700 and had 17 total bases on the weekend. Wilson blasted four home runs in the series, with five RBIs and six runs scored.

Kenneth Wise – Fresno State, Freshman

Batted .714 (10-for-14) with three runs scored, a double and a home run. Wise slugged 1.000 and was walked four times.

Coach Mark Pollard – Carl Albert

Rallied his team to a come-from-behind victory over Southwestern (Iowa) College to earn his 900th career win.
